Poster Competition on Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 

On 16th September 2025, under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, the Department of B.Voc Medical Laboratory Technology organized a poster competition on different types of cancer in observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The program commenced at 10:50 am, with a panel of judges comprising Dr. Kalim Shaikh, Dr. Shoeb Ahmed, Dr. Rafiq Shaikh and Dr. Gulab Pathan. The judges meticulously evaluated each poster, engaging students in thought-provoking discussions that showcased their knowledge and critical thinking skills. After a thorough evaluation, the judges selected the top three posters, a challenging task given the outstanding quality of submissions.

A WARM WELCOME AND SINCERE GRATITUDE


A total of 38 students participated in the poster competition, showcasing their creativity and knowledge on various aspects of cancer.

Our esteemed guest, Dr. Sandeep Palve, Management Council member of SPPU Pune, was felicitated by Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh. Dr. Sandeep Palve appreciated the event and specially the selection of the topic because of the importance of cancer early diagnosis and proper treatment. He emphasized that awareness about cancer is crucial for timely detection and effective management, and commended the department for taking this initiative to raise awareness among students.

Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh praised the students for their creativity and active participation, that the healthcare awareness events like this show the innovative spirit of the department. Such activities, help students to think better, work together, and gain the confidence needed for their future careers.













EXPERT EYES: DISTINGUISHED JUDGES, EXCEPTIONAL INSIGHTS!


The prize ceremony followed, with the winners being:

1. 3rd Prize: Saleha Shakir, TY MLT student, whose poster on "Neuroblastoma"
showcased her in-depth understanding of the topic.

2. 2nd Prize: Aliya Sameer Hannure, TY MLT student, whose poster on "Wilms Tumor" highlighted her excellent research skills.

3. 1st Prize: Aiman Nazim Burud, SY MLT student, whose poster on "Breast Cancer" demonstrated her exceptional knowledge and presentation skills.

All participants received participation certificates, acknowledging their efforts and encouraging them to continue exploring the field of medical laboratory technology.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our guest, Dr. Sandeep Palve, and Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh for their valuable time and support. We also appreciate the judges, Dr. Kalim Shaikh, Dr. Shoeb Ahmed, Dr. Rafiq Shaikh and Dr. Gulab Pathan, for their expertise and patience in evaluating the posters.

The program was meticulously organized by Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh, with support from Dr. Gazala Pathan and Ms. Shahin Shaikh. 

Special thanks to Mr. Farooque Shaikh (Nodal Officer, B.Voc) for his unwavering support, which has been instrumental in the success of our department's events.

All the technical support, designing of certificates & banners was done by Mr. Mudassir Shaikh, whose expertise and creativity added a professional touch to the event. The event was a resounding success, and we look forward to organizing more such initiatives in the future.
