National Girl Child Day Celebration – Exposure Visit on Safe Urban Mobility

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, the Department of B.Voc Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an exposure visit on 24th January 2026 focusing on safe urban mobility for girl students. The activity was planned with the objective of creating awareness about safe public transportation systems, promoting independent travel, and strengthening confidence among girl students.

The exposure visit commenced at Swargate Metro Station, where the participating students were guided about the online and digital ticketing system, basic metro etiquette, and various safety features and facilities available for passengers. The students were made aware of emergency procedures and responsible behavior while using public transport. After the orientation, the group travelled from Swargate Metro Station to Pimpri Metro Station, gaining firsthand experience of safe and organized urban transportation.

A total of 24 girl students participated in the visit. The activity was efficiently organized and coordinated by Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh, with full support and guidance from Dr. Gazala Pathan and Dr. Farooque Shaikh. The visit was conducted smoothly and achieved its intended objectives through active participation and interaction of the students.

The outcomes of the exposure visit were highly positive. The activity helped in improving confidence among girl students, increased their awareness of urban mobility systems, and enhanced their understanding of safety measures in public transportation. The visit also contributed to promoting self-reliance and empowerment among the participants, aligning with the spirit of National Girl Child Day.

The Department of B.Voc Medical Laboratory Technology sincerely extends its gratitude to the Principal, Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, for his constant support and encouragement in organizing this meaningful initiative. The exposure visit proved to be a successful and impactful activity, reinforcing the importance of safe mobility, gender equality, and empowerment of girl students.
