  From Research to Presentation- A Capacity Building Seminar By students The Department of B.Voc (Medical Laboratory Technology) organized a capacity-building seminar, "From Research to Presentation," on 5 March 2026, aimed at transforming research notes into confident stage delivery. Medical Laboratory Technology is as much about test accuracy as it is about communicating results. The seminar, guided by Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh and coordinated by Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh, targeted three core goals: confidence-building & public-speaking practice.   The seminar's objectives were to encourage students to read and cite recent research, develop a structured presentation flow, and provide peer-to-peer learning in Endocrinology and Toxicology.   Seminar On Research Methodology The Department of B.Voc Medical Laboratory Technology at AKI’s Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce successfully organized a Seminar on Research Methodology for the Third Year Medical Laboratory Technology (TY MLT) students on 5th March 2026. The primary objective of the seminar was to enhance students’ understanding of research practices and to develop their analytical and scientific thinking skills. Research methodology is an essential component of higher education, especially in medical and laboratory sciences, as it helps students understand how scientific knowledge is generated, tested, and validated.   The seminar was delivered by the esteemed guest speaker Dr. Riyasat Peerzade from the Department of Commerce.  National Science Day On the occasion of National Science Day, the B.Voc MLT Department of Poona College organized a seminar titled “Science and Social Responsibilities.” The seminar was held at 10:00 a.m. on the Poona College campus and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. Visit to Tayyabia Orphanage  The Department of B.Voc Medical Laboratory Technology, under the guidance of Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, organized an outreach activity at Tayyabia Orphanage, Camp on February 17th, 2026. The event aimed to provide financial support and spread joy among the orphans, while also sensitizing students to the importance of giving back to the community. Quiz Competition on Yoga and Physical Fitness  Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, the Department of B. Voc MLT organized a Quiz Competition on Yoga and Physical Fitness on January 28th, 2026, at 11 am in IT Lab 1. The event aimed to promote awareness about yoga and physical fitness among students. Dr. Gazala Pathan, Assistant Professor, B. Voc MLT, organized the competition, which was coordinated by Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh and Ms. Shahin Shaikh. A Google Form with 50 MCQs was shared with the students, and the winner was selected based on their performance. Ms. Muskan Bahadur Shaikh from SY MLT emerged as the winner and was awarded ₹500 cash prize. Yoga and physical fitness play a vital role in maintaining overall health and well-being. Regular practice of yoga can help reduce stress, improve flexibility, and boost immunity.  National Girl Child Day Celebration – Exposure Visit on Safe Urban Mobility  On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, the Department of B.Voc Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an exposure visit on 24th January 2026 focusing on safe urban mobility for girl students. The activity was planned with the objective of creating awareness about safe public transportation systems, promoting independent travel, and strengthening confidence among girl students.  The exposure visit commenced at Swargate Metro Station, where the participating students were guided about the online and digital ticketing system, basic metro etiquette, and various safety features and facilities available for passengers.
