Poona College B.Voc Department Celebrates Teacher’s Day
Pune, September 4, 2025 – The B.Voc. Department of Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce celebrated Teacher’s Day with immense enthusiasm and gratitude under the guidance of Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh and Nodal Officer Mr. Farooq Shaikh.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Kazi Abdullah, a student of B.Voc BFSI. This was followed by a felicitation ceremony for the faculty members of the department. The honored teachers included Mr. Farooq Shaikh, Dr. Imran Baig Mirza, Dr. Shirin Shaikh, Mr. Umar Shaikh, Dr. Riyasat Peerzade, Ms. Nikhat Hurzuk, Ms. Farheen Shama Shaikh, Dr. Ghazala Pathan, Ms. Shaheen Shaikh, Mr. Shakeel Akhtar, Ms. Isra Khan, Mr. Waseem Shaikh, Ms. Faiza Shaikh, Mr. Aman Sayed, Ms. Zainia Kuwaise, Mr. Mudassir Shaikh and Mr. Sajid Shaikh.
Students expressed their gratitude by presenting flowers and special gifts to their teachers. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Dr. Imran Baig Mirza conducted an interactive session highlighting the importance of attendance and academic discipline.
Mr. Farooque Shaikh, Nodal Officer of B.Voc, thanked the students for their efforts and motivated them with valuable words. He expressed his gratitude to the students for recognizing the efforts of their teachers and encouraged them to continue showing respect and appreciation for their mentors.
The event’s highlight was a series of fun games organized by the students for the teachers, which created a lively atmosphere and made the celebration truly memorable. A total of 170 students from B.Voc. streams including Software Development (SD), Medical Lab. Technology (MLT), Banking Finance Services & Insurance (BFSI), and Travel & Tourism & Hospitality Management (TTHM) actively participated, contributing to the grand success of the program.
Behind the scenes, student volunteers from all B.Voc departments worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth coordination of the event. The entire celebration was coordinated by Mr. Farooq Shaikh.
The Teacher’s Day event became a symbol of the strong bond between students and teachers, highlighting the invaluable role educators play in shaping future generations.
