Visit to Noble Hospital & Research Centre

The Department of B.Voc Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) successfully organized an educational excursion to Noble Hospital, Magarpatta, on January 4, 2025. This enriching experience was facilitated under the astute guidance of Principal Dr. Iqbal N Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Amjad Shaikh.

The primary objective of this visit was to provide students with experiential learning opportunities and expose them to real-world laboratory operations, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

The hospital's pathology staff, Mr. Pritam and Mr. Appa Shinde, extended their unwavering support and facilitated a comprehensive tour of various departments, including the collection center, processing unit, histopathology department, and Outpatient Department (OPD). This immersive experience enabled students to garner a deeper understanding of laboratory operations and their role in the healthcare ecosystem.

Mr. Pritam provided an in-depth explanation of the Histopathology process, covering every crucial step. He began by describing the grossing of various tissue samples, which involves examining and processing the tissues to prepare them for further analysis.

Next, he elaborated on the process of making wax blocks, which entails embedding the tissue samples in paraffin wax to create a stable and durable medium for sectioning. Mr. Pritam then explained the trimming of samples, where excess wax is removed to expose the tissue, followed by the cutting of thin sections using a microtome.

Finally, he discussed the staining process, specifically highlighting the use of Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining. This widely used staining technique enables the visualization of tissue structures and cellular details, providing valuable insights for diagnosis and research.

Throughout the explanation, Mr. Pritam ensured that every step was clearly outlined, providing a comprehensive understanding of the Histopathology process.

The visit was meticulously organized by Ms. Farheen Shaikh Assistant Professor, B.Voc MLT, and supported by Dr. Gazala Pathan and Ms. Shahin Shaikh, Assistant Professors, B.Voc MLT. Background support was provided by Mr. Farooque Shaikh, Nodal Officer, B.Voc. The collaborative effort of the organizing team ensured a seamless and enriching experience for the students.

The visit proved to be an invaluable learning experience for our students, providing them with practical insights into laboratory operations and their applications in real-world settings. We express our sincere appreciation to Noble Hospital for their support and extend our gratitude to the organizing team for their tireless efforts in making this visit a resounding success.
