Health Check-up Camp at Poona College


Under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Iqbal Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Amjad Shaikh, the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology organized a successful blood checkup camp. The camp was held with the primary objective of providing comprehensive health screenings, including blood group identification, blood pressure measurement, and eye screening, to the participants. This initiative was a part of the department's ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and community service among students and staff.

The camp witnessed active participation from the SY students, who were responsible for carrying out various tasks under the supervision of the faculty. The registration process was efficiently managed by Insha Shaikh and Swaleha Shaikh, ensuring that all participants were properly documented. Saleha Shaikh and Iram Shaikh were in charge of blood pressure measurement, providing accurate readings and contributing to the overall success of the event.

Blood group identification, a crucial aspect of the camp, was conducted by a dedicated group of students, including Alma, Mantasha Ansari, Divine, Saba Khan, Mamnun Ansari, and Sadiya Mulla. Their collective efforts ensured that all participants received precise and reliable blood group reports. The eye screening segment, essential for detecting potential vision issues, was conducted by Afra and Iram Shaikh, who performed their duties with diligence and care.

The organization of the camp was spearheaded by Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh, Assistant Professor of B.Voc MLT, who played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. Her efforts were supported by Dr. Gazala Pathan, Assistant Professor of B.Voc MLT, and Ms. Shahin Shaikh, Assistant Professor of B.Voc MLT, whose assistance was invaluable in managing the logistics and technical aspects of the camp.


The camp was maintained, managed, and supported by Mr. Farooque Shaikh, Nodal Officer B.Voc, whose contributions were integral to the overall success of the event. Last but not least, technical support was provided by Ms. Nikhat Hurzuk, Assistant Professor of B.Voc SD, and Mr. Mudassir Shaikh, whose expertise ensured that all technical requirements were met, contributing to the camp's efficiency.

Total 144 students availed of the health check-up facility and received benefits.


The blood checkup camp was a testament to the collaborative efforts of the faculty, staff, and students, reflecting the department's commitment to promoting health and well-being in the community.
