Health check–up camp

27th September, 2023: The B.VOC MLT Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce has organized free medical Health camp for the check-up of CBC ( Complete blood count) and eye screening specially for the girls of  BA,  in the B.VOC MLT Lab with the help of SY MLT students along with faculty members Ms. Shaheen Shaikh and Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh.

The camp started at sharp 9:15 am. We have divided the whole process in five steps including registration, blood sample collection, Eye screening, sample processing unit and Google form filling desk. Total 65 students from BA came for the Health Check up.

 

Registration and Google form filling was done by the students of SY MLT Salina and Tasmiya. Hafsa, Faizal, and Mehek have taken the blood sample of students. Eye screening was done by Sumayya and Tayyaba. Lastly blood sample processed by Fardin Maniyar and Soniya. All the SY MLT students have successfully contributed in the camp.

 

The camp was successfully conducted with the help of Farooque Shaikh (Nodal officer, BVOC) who created the Google forms for students and also guided the students to follow the standard operating procedure while working in the lab.


The programme was efficiently coordinated by Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh and Ms. Shahin Shaikh, with special gratitude extended to Dr. Vinod Parde (Coordinator, BVOC MLT) for their substantial support. In total, 65 students underwent CBC (haemoglobin) testing during this event.

 

The programme concluded successfully at 2:00 pm, during which our students efficiently managed the whole camp and used their skill in operating the required equipment. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all my dear students for your hard work, leadership quality, and unity and management skills. I could observe that you all put substantial energy and hard work in every event. This would not have been possible without the support and nurturing of you all.

                                                  National Girl Child Day Celebration Under the able guidance of the Principal Prof. Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh, Poona College of arts science and commerce (Bachelor of vocation) conducted activities on the occasion of National Girl Child Day On 24th January 2024   The day was celebrated with enthusiasm at our institution, bringing together 90 students to partake in various activities aimed at fostering a sense of community and empowerment.                                                      Visit to the Jehangir Hospital 2 nd September, 2023: The B.VOC MLT Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized a visit to the Jehangir hospital along with faculty member Ms. Shaheen Shaikh and Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh with a batch of 32 students. The visit started at 11:30 am. At the reception we were guided by the team member of pathology laboratory Mr Sudhir where we introduce our students and divided into a group of 10 students and visited the different departments of hospital. The department includes pathology lab (Haematology, Clinical, Biochemistry, and Immunology), Histopathology, Microbiology and Blood bank. A detailed explanation regarding each department, sample collection, testing was given during the visit. Our first batch of students started from Blood bank. Mrs. Uma explained the information’s about FFP, SDP, and RDP separation also about machine, temperature, and storage of the separated blood bags.
