for Day One of Deeksharambh Program for B.Voc Department Students

The
Deeksharambh program for the B.Voc department students at Poona College of
Arts, Science & Commerce began with a solemn recitation of Tilawat-E-Quran.
This spiritual start was conducted by Mr. Shakeel Akther, Assistant Professor, and
Dept. of B.Voc BFSI, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the day's
proceedings.
Following
the recitation, Ms. Shahin Shaikh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of B.Voc MLT,
introduced the program. Ms. Shaikh, who also served as the comparer for the
entire program, outlined the day's agenda, welcoming the new students and
highlighting the significance of the induction program in easing their
transition into college life.

Mr.
Farooque Shaikh, Assistant Professor and Nodal Officer of the Dept. of B.Voc,
then provided a comprehensive introduction to the college. He discussed the
history and achievements of Poona College, its mission and vision, and the
various facilities and opportunities available to students. His presentation
aimed to instill pride and excitement in the students about being part of such
a prestigious institution.

Ms.
Nikhat Hurzuk, Assistant Professor, Dept. of B.Voc Software Development, took
the stage to introduce the B.Voc department and its diverse courses. She
elaborated on the various streams offered under B.Voc, including Software
Development, Medical Lab Technology, Banking Finance Services and Insurance
(BFSI), and Travel Tourism and Hospitality Management. In addition to this, Ms.
Hurzuk showcased the various activities that were performed in the last academic
year. This included workshops, seminars, industry visits, and other
extracurricular activities, providing new students with an overview of the
vibrant academic and co-curricular life at the college. She also showcased the
achievements of students who have been successfully placed in reputable
organizations, providing new students with tangible examples of the potential
career paths and opportunities available through their courses.

Dr.
Shirin Shaikh, Associate Professor, Dept. of English, presented the Language
Lab. Dr. Shaikh demonstrated the facilities and resources available in the
Language Lab, emphasizing its role in enhancing students' communication skills,
which are crucial for their academic and professional success. The interactive
tools and learning modules in the Language Lab were highlighted as key features
that support language learning and proficiency.

A
special felicitation ceremony followed, where Dr. Amjad Shaikh, Vice Principal,
was honored. Dr. Imran Baig Mirza, Coordinator of B.Voc Software Development,
conducted the felicitation, recognizing Dr. Amjad Shaikh's contributions and
leadership. This ceremony underscored the collaborative spirit and supportive
environment fostered by the faculty at Poona College.

Dr.
Amjad Shaikh then presented an overview of the National Education Policy (NEP)
structure. His presentation detailed the significant reforms and changes
introduced by the NEP, explaining how these changes would benefit the students
by providing a more flexible and holistic education. The focus was on the
integration of vocational education with mainstream education, the emphasis on
skill development, and the various new opportunities that the NEP aims to
create for students.

Dr.
Imran Baig Mirza returned to discuss the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
system of the college. He explained how the ERP system is used to manage and
streamline various administrative and academic processes. Dr. Mirza
demonstrated the functionalities of the ERP system, showing students how to
access their academic records, register for courses, and utilize other
essential features. This session was particularly beneficial in helping
students understand the technological infrastructure of the college, ensuring
they can efficiently manage their academic activities.

Dr.
Imran Baig Mirza also discussed the rules, regulations, and discipline
regarding uniform and attendance. He emphasized the importance of adhering to
the college's standards to maintain a conductive learning environment and
instill a sense of responsibility among students.
The
program proceeded with the welcome and felicitation of Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, I/C
Principal. Dr. Iqbal Shaikh addressed the students, offering words of
encouragement and advice. He emphasized the importance of dedication, hard
work, and active participation in college activities. His speech inspired the
students to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them at Poona
College and to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.

the visit to the library, Mr. Farooque Shaikh interacted with the students,
creating a light-hearted and engaging atmosphere. His interaction made the
students smile and laugh, helping to build a sense of camaraderie and easing
any apprehensions they might have had.

The
final segment of the day's program was a tour of the library, led by Dr.
Mohammad Zubair Shaikh, Librarian. Dr. Shaikh provided an overview of the
library's extensive resources, including the vast collection of books,
journals, and digital resources. He demonstrated how students could access both
physical and online materials, highlighting the importance of utilizing these
resources for their studies and research. The tour concluded with a
demonstration of the online platforms available for accessing books, ensuring
students are well-equipped to leverage the library's offerings.
Special
recognition was given to Ms. FarheenShama Shaikh, Assistant Professor, Mrs.
Gazala Pathan, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Muddassir Shaikh from the B.Voc
department for their efforts in ensuring the program's success.
The
first day of the Deeksharambh program concluded on a high note in the library,
with students feeling well-informed and supported. The comprehensive
introduction to the college, its departments, and resources provided a solid
foundation for the students, ensuring they are well-prepared to embark on their
academic journey at Poona College.
Report for Day Two
of Deeksharambh Program for B.Voc Department Students

The second day of the Deeksharambh
program for B.Voc department students at Poona College of Arts, Science &
Commerce began with the recitation of Tilawat-E-Quran by Mr. Shakeel Akther,
Assistant Professor, Dept. of B.Voc BFSI. This spiritual beginning set a serene
and respectful atmosphere for the day’s proceedings.
Following the recitation, Ms.
Shahin Shaikh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of B.Voc MLT, introduced the agenda
for the day. As the comparer for the day, she welcomed the students and
provided an overview of the scheduled activities, ensuring everyone was
well-informed about what to expect.

Dr. Afreen Ahmed, Assistant
Professor, Dept. of Botany, then addressed the students regarding the
Anti-Ragging Cell, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and Grievance Redressal
Cell (GRC). She emphasized the college’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging
and harassment, highlighting the measures in place to ensure a safe and
supportive environment for all students.

Mr. Shakeel Akther returned to the
stage to showcase the Gymkhana and sports facilities. He detailed the various
sports activities and achievements of students at both national and
international levels. His presentation underscored the importance of physical
fitness and the opportunities available for students to excel in sports.

Next, Dr. Vakeel Sayyed, CEO of the
Examination Department, provided insights into the examination patterns over
the three-year course. He discussed the importance of maintaining attendance,
the examination procedures, and the rigorous standards upheld by the NAAC A+
grade college. Dr. Sayyed proudly mentioned that the examination department
achieved 100 marks in their assessment and maintained 0% grievances in the last
five years within the B.Voc department, highlighting the department's
dedication to fairness and excellence.

Dr. Mukhtar Shaikh, Assistant
Professor, Dept. of Political Science, then spoke about competitive exams and
scholarships. He showcased various activities conducted in previous academic
years and provided examples of successful exam crackers from the college,
inspiring students to aim high in their academic and career pursuits.

The department of B.Voc presented a
video showcasing glimpses of activities, seminars, student trips, and other
programs. This visual presentation gave students a vibrant picture of college
life, the diverse opportunities available, and what they can look forward to in
the coming years.

delivered by Ms. Farheen Shama Shaikh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of B.Voc MLT.
She expressed gratitude to AKI’s Management for providing the opportunity to
conduct such an enriching program. Special thanks were given to Dr. Iqbal
Shaikh, I/C Principal, and Dr. Amjad Shaikh, Vice Principal, for their esteemed
presence and support for the B.Voc initiative led by Dr. Imran Baig Mirza,
Coordinator of B.Voc Software Development. Their participation significantly
impacted the students.

recognized the efforts of Mr. Farooque Shaikh, Nodal Officer of the B.Voc
department, in managing and ensuring the event’s success. Special thanks were
given to Ms. Shahin Shaikh for her diligent work as the comparer over the two
days. Appreciation was extended to Ms. Nikhat Hurzuk, Assistant Professor,
Dept. of B.Voc Software Development, for her contributions in introducing the
B.Voc department to the students and handling various tasks.
Mr. Shakeel Akther was acknowledged
for his valuable contributions, and special thanks were given to Mr. Ajaz
Shaikh from the Dept. of B.Voc TTHM for organizing students and managing
discipline throughout the program, a challenging task that was executed
efficiently.
Dr. Gazala Pathan from the Dept. of
B.Voc MLT was thanked for managing attendance and other tasks, while special
recognition was given to Mr. Muddassir Shaikh, Admin of the B.Voc department,
for his tireless efforts in making arrangements and handling technical work and
preparations.
Finally, heartfelt thanks were
extended to the B.Voc students for their participation and contributions, making
the Deeksharambh program a memorable and successful event.
