National Girl Child Day Celebration
Under the able guidance of the
Principal Prof. Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh, Poona College of arts science and
commerce (Bachelor of vocation) conducted activities on the occasion of
National Girl Child Day On 24th January 2024
The day was celebrated with enthusiasm at our institution,
bringing together 90 students to
partake in various activities aimed at fostering a sense of community and
empowerment. The event, meticulously organized by Ms. Farheenshama Shaikh and Ms. Shaheen Shaikh, showcased the
talent and spirit of the participating students.
The day commenced with a spirited game of Kho-Kho (Standing kho-kho), where three teams, each
comprising 12 players, engaged in friendly competition. The intensity and
camaraderie among the players added to the vibrant atmosphere. In a closely
contested match, one team emerged victorious, exemplifying the teamwork and
sportsmanship displayed by all participants.
Following the Kho-Kho excitement, the festivities
continued with a Musical Chair
competition, drawing 36 enthusiastic participants. The lively energy and
laughter filled the air as the participants engaged in this classic game.
Ultimately, four individuals demonstrated their agility and strategic moves to
emerge as the winners, contributing to the jubilant mood of the celebration.
Adding a touch of artistic flair, a Mehndi competition captivated the audience's attention. 18 students participated in this creative endeavor, showcasing their skills in intricate henna designs. The competition was keenly judged by esteemed individuals,
Dr. Afreen Abrar from the Botany
department and Ms. Fayeza Shaikh from the Commerce department. The judging process added a professional touch to
the event, recognizing the artistic talents of the participants.
The Mehndi competition witnessed outstanding
creations, and the top honors were awarded to 1st Mehak Amjad (SY B.Voc MLT), 2nd Rumana
Khan (FY B.Voc MLT), and 3rd Saleha (FY B.Voc MLT). Their
intricate and beautifully crafted designs reflected not only their artistic
prowess but also their dedication to the competition. The winners of these
talented individuals were awarded with cash prize and certificates.
Coordinating such an event requires meticulous
planning and execution. Mr. Farooque
Shaikh and Dr. Vinod Parde took on the responsibility of ensuring smooth
coordination, ensuring that the schedule flowed seamlessly, and participants
and spectators alike enjoyed a memorable experience. Their dedication and
effort behind the scenes were crucial to the success of National Girl Child Day
celebrations.
In conclusion, the celebration of National Girl
Child Day at our institution was a resounding success, bringing together
students in a spirit of unity, empowerment, and fun.
